The purpose of the 'Who Cares?' campaign is to encourage carers (be they professionals or not), to consider how the people they care for are at special risk from fire, and, to contact East Sussex Fire & Rescue for help and safety advice.
The East Sussex Fire & Rescue Service vision is to achieve safer and more sustainable communities.
To assist us in achieving this goal we are asking carers to help us identify vulnerable members of our communities. This will enable us to do our best in protecting them and making their homes safer places.
The 'Who Cares?' campaign is driven by a Fire & Rescue Service presentation, itself based on a case study, which graphically highlights the importance of partnership working and sharing vital information between agencies and members of the community.
By simply sharing information and referring vulnerable people to the Fire & Rescue Service we could avert a tragedy. The 'Who Cares?' campaign aims to raise awareness amongst carers and caring agencies of the range of preventative work that East Sussex Fire & Rescue Service can provide for the vulnerable.
Our preventative work is a FREE service, and includes
We are also able (with their consent) to refer people to partner agencies where non-fire related welfare or safety concerns are raised.
All of this assists people to be independent and safe.
The 'Who Cares?' campaign was launched on the 3rd of March 2009 at East Sussex Fire & Rescue Service headquarters, 20 Upperton Road, Eastbourne.
If you or a representative of your agency wishes to attend the official launch, please contact Lisa Tennant on 01323 462431 for further details.
Your attendance at the launch is very important to us.
At the launch you will see the 'Who Cares?' presentation, hear how we operate and manage our services and have the opportunity to ask questions on how you can make best use of them.
