TrainingEquality & Diversity

East Sussex Fire & Rescue Service recognises the importance of equality and diversity based training for the achievement of our equality objectives. We will ensure that all employees are made aware of their responsibility with regard to diversity and equality by providing learning and development training.

Employees are required to take responsibility for their own work and the performance of anyone they manage, to share best practices and take full advantage of the developmental opportunities provided to them.

The following courses are available and being delivered across the organisation.

Diversity, Equality and Fairness Course Opening Page

The aim of this session is to give participants an overview of Equality and Diversity in the East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service.

Disability Equality.

 Disability Equality Course Opening Page

The aim of this session is to give participants an understanding of disability issues including the definition and new legislation in relation to disability.

  • Duration: 90 minutes.

The aim of this session is to increase participants knowledge and understanding of:-

  • The Race Equality Scheme and the General Duty.
  • Equality Standard for Local Government.
  • Direct and Indirect Discrimination.
  • Equality Impact Assessments.

Fairness for All

The aim of this 1 day workshop is to enable participants to improve their knowledge and understanding of diversity, equality and fairness and identify personal actions and developmental needs to support and value equality and diversity.
