The event is offered to anyone who has retired from East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service, East Sussex Fire Brigade or any of the local derivatives prior to amalgamation in 1974. It is intended to create the opportunity to reforge links with our former members and build on the network of support started in 2007, so please feel free to spread the word to any colleagues you are still in touch with. We will provide a number of presentations on new firefighting and road traffic collision rescue techniques, show you some of the new equipment and appliances that are now in use and show you a modern residential sprinkler system that will hopefully give you an idea of what the firefighters of today are capable of achieving. We will of course be building on the success of last year and extending the opportunity to view the old photographs and memorabilia that Guy Bowes is continuing to collect. We would be very grateful for confirmation of the names of those who would like to attend which can be sent to the contact details below and we very much look forward to welcoming you to our training centre on 10th July. Finally please feel free to spread the word as widely as you can so that we can ensure that as many of your former colleagues as possible are aware of the event. |
