Chairman of East Sussex County Council visits East Sussex Fire & Rescue Service Headquarters |

On 7th April 2008 the Chairman of East Sussex County Council, Councillor Bob Lacey visited East Sussex Fire & Rescue Service Headquarters based in Eastbourne. Following the presentation of an East Sussex Fire & Rescue Service plaque by Chief Fire Officer and Chief Executive Des Prichard, Councillor Bob Lacey took the opportunity to visit the Children’s Services Education team and the Service Mobilising and Communication Centre to gain a better insight into the work that East Sussex Fire & Rescue Service are involved with across the County of East Sussex and the City of Brighton & Hove.
The visit highlighted the importance of working in partnership with East Sussex County Council to maintain safer communities as well as raising awareness of the diverse range of projects that East Sussex Fire & Rescue Service are involved in. Councillor Bob Lacey commented, "East Sussex Fire & Rescue Service undertake a series of roles and very difficult tasks, in particular, attending a growing number of road traffic collisions on the roads of East Sussex. The opportunity to spend some time at East Sussex Fire & Rescue Service Headquarters was a great chance to find out more about the work that is done to educate young people, parents and guardians in fire and road safety. It is important to recognise the continuing work that East Sussex Fire & Rescue Service carry out to reduce the impact of these incidents on the community." |
