FREE COMMUNITY CONTACT BY E-MAIL SCHEME.
Launched for all Wealden residents on line.

From the Safer Wealden Partnership

The Safer Wealden Partnership has been trialling the scheme for some time and has announced a full launch at its Town and Parish Conference held late last year.

Mark O’Brien, Chairman of the Safer Wealden Partnership says,

“Community Contact is a real opportunity to engage with more people in the Wealden area to help improve Community Safety. I really encourage everybody to join ”.

The scheme provides a safe, efficient and speedy way of exchanging information between Sussex Police, Safer Wealden Partners and the Community.

Members receive e-mail bulletins containing messages from:

  • Sussex Police on crime, crime prevention, “good news” in the fight against local crime and traffic accident appeals, etc.
  • Sussex Police Authority with news re meetings and surveys.
  • East Sussex Trading Standards regarding scams, rogue traders, etc.
  • Community Safety Messages from The Safer Wealden Partnership which includes, Wealden District Council, East Sussex County Council, East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service and East Sussex Downs and Weald Primary Care Trust.

The Wealden Commander, Ch Insp Neil Honnor comments,

“The community contact scheme is an excellent opportunity for local people to help make their neighbourhoods safer.

Knowing what is going on in your local area, both raises awareness of crime prevention opportunities and helps reduce the fear of crime.

The scheme also promotes two way communication and generates a flow of intelligence, all people have to do is simply sign up to the e-mail address ”.

To join the scheme please send an e-mail to: cc.registration@sussex.pnn.police.uk stating your postcode and contact phone number.

All messages are sent out as blind copy so members’ e-mail addresses remain confidential and addresses are securely held on the Police computer.

The e-mail joining address also applies to the Rother and Hastings areas.
