Marlie Farm Investigation

Today's announcement by Sussex Police indicates a significant step forward with their investigation into the tragic events of 3rd December 2006.

The announcement serves to remind us of the tragic events of that day when two members of our Service lost their lives. Brian Wembridge and Geoff Wicker were highly valued and respected members of East Sussex Fire & Rescue Service and we will continue to focus on supporting their families who are still learning to live with the loss of two much loved and respected family men.

We should also not forget that a number of our firefighters and two Police officers were injured in the explosion and we will continue to support these staff and their colleagues who were affected by the incident at Marlie Farm and its aftermath.

East Sussex Fire & Rescue Service will continue to do whatever it can to support the Police and the Health and Safety Executive in its ongoing work to find out what happened at the incident.
