4,000 Mile Hiker Drops into Roedean! 14 January 2009 Colin Snook, a 72 year old retired firefighter from Sussex, dropped into Roedean Community Fire Station while on the home stretch of his 4,000 mile walk of the coast of Great Britain in support of CLIMB (Children Living with Inherited Metabolic Diseases). The mammoth walk started in Bognor Regis on 1st January 2008, scheduled to finish a year later. Colin was inspired to support CLIMB after meeting a teenager in the final stages of a devastating metabolic disease. Colin said, "This meeting had a profound effect on me and I had no hesitation in nominating CLIMB as the beneficiary of my efforts. Chasing a personal ambition is one thing, but I feel it must be in tow with a nobler cause." Colin dropped into Roedean Community Fire Station just days before completing his trek. Congratulations to Colin who has raised over £24,000 for CLIMB! |
