Firefighters from Forest Row, Uckfield, Roedean
& Wadhurst Prepare to Lather Up for the National Car Wash!

04 March 2009

Firefighters at Forest Row, Uckfield, Roedean and Wadhurst community fire stations are excited to be taking part in the National Car Wash this Saturday and invite you to bring your car along for a super-soaking!

The Fire Fighters Charity's National Car Wash is taking place on Saturday 7th March and will see thousands of firefighters across the UK lining up outside local community fire stations with buckets and sponges. The East Sussex car washes will be taking place at Uckfield, Roedean and Wadhurst community fire stations and also at Forest Row Community Centre.

The day provides drivers with the opportunity to receive a shampoo for their cars, along with the chance to make a charity donation upon exit. Firefighters from the four stations will be collecting donations for The Fire Fighters Charity as well as taking the opportunity to talk to members of the public about fire safety.

Every 30 seconds in the UK, fire fighters are called to an incident, putting their lives on the line, and often sustaining physical injuries whilst carrying out their duties.

The Fire Fighters Charity is here for fire fighters during their times of need, and assists over 13,500 individuals every year, by providing pioneering treatment and support services.
