Fundraising event in Hailsham High Street

17 March 2009

East Sussex Fire & Rescue Service are holding a large fundraising event on Sunday 22nd March in Hailsham High Street and inviting the local community to join them!

Bring all the family to see a wide range of fire appliances and receive a full tour of the equipment and facilities, providing a rare opportunity to see what really goes on behind the blue lights!

A warm and friendly welcome is guaranteed to everyone and there'll be plenty for the whole family to do.

There's a cake stall, raffle, tombola and jumble sale, along with a variety of competitions including 'guess how many balloons there are in a police vehicle!' Fireman Sam, Welephant and Ashley the Alien will also be joining in the fun.

Firefighters will be running a mile, up and down Hailsham High Street, complete with a hose, to raise money for the Firefighters Charity and the Macmillan Charity.

The event marks the 10th anniversary of the death of Phil Anderson, a local Crew Manager, who died of cancer.
