East Sussex Fire & Rescue Service have been made aware that some fraudulent telephone calls, offering home safety visits, have been made to residents within East Sussex and the City of Brighton & Hove.

East Sussex Fire & Rescue Service would like to remind residents that we do not make cold calls of this nature and that we do not allow any unauthorised individuals to operate under the name of East Sussex Fire & Rescue Service.

All visits by East Sussex Fire & Rescue Service are actioned by request of the homeowner. All of our staff are uniformed and carry full identification. If you are in any doubt, please ask the caller for the contact telephone number on their identification card and call East Sussex Fire & Rescue Service to verify their identity.

When a stranger rings your bell, be cautious. Don't let anybody in unless you are expecting them. If you do receive a call of this nature, please call East Sussex Fire & Rescue Service's Home Safety Team on 0800 177 7069.
