Road Safety Initiative Resources Day
09 June 2009
Recently, East Sussex Fire & Rescue Service organised a Road Safety Initiative Resources Day to offer essential road safety prevention information to their staff and partnership agencies.
The event offered an opportunity for partners to share knowledge and equipment in order to share best practice between agencies.
Having a greater awareness of the resources available helps emergency services to effectively target activities with the aim of reducing Road Traffic Collisions, but more importantly to reduce the number of people killed and seriously injured on the roads of East Sussex.
The event was held at Lewes community fire station where the available road safety equipment and initiative resources were displayed.
The event included input from
- East Sussex Fire & Rescue Service
- East Sussex County Council
- The Sussex Safer Roads Partnership
- Sussex Police
- West Sussex Fire & Rescue Service
- West Sussex County Council
- The Highways Agency
- South East Coast Ambulance Service
- The APE Theatre Company.
Representatives from the various agencies staffed the displays and explained the purpose of each item and how they could support initiatives and operations that are undertaken by East Sussex Fire & Rescue Service.
