East Sussex Fire & Rescue Service will hold a rural community safety event at Church Farm in Ripe, East Sussex this Saturday, 4th July.

Firefighters from Lewes community fire station and the Lewes community safety team will be delivering the event, which has been coordinated and managed by Lewes Watch Manger, John Haizelden, who forms part of the Service's Animal Rescue Team.

This event aims to further improve East Sussex Fire & Rescue Service's engagement with rural communities and to promote the fire and rescue services available to them.

The event will provide an opportunity to discuss the following:

• Free Home Safety Visits for people in rural areas
• Countryside fire safety information
• Animal safety and rescue
• Road safety considerations in rural areas

The Rural Community Safety Event will run at Church Farm on Church Road in Ripe, East Sussex between 10:30am-1:00pm on Saturday 4th July 2009.
