Crowborough Community Fire Station Open Day 2007.

The doors of Crowborough Community Fire Station will be open to the public this weekend (23rd and 24th June) for the station´s annual open day.

As well as taking a closer look at both new and vintage fire engines, visitors will be able to talk to the firefighters about their work and see them in action in drill and rescue displays which will include demonstrations such as, animal rescue, rope rescue and road traffic collisions.

It will also be an ideal opportunity for anyone interested in becoming a retained firefighter to get more information. Fire crews will be happy to answer any questions and talk about what the job involves.

Firefighters from Crowborough are keen to make the open day both fun and educational and the Road Safety Camera Partnership Bus along with representatives from the Children´s Burns Trust who will be there on the day to offer support, guidance and advice to the communities of Crowborough.

With families in mind, crews have also organised a road safety poster competition along with a balloon race, a tombola, a BBQ and a book and cake stall. Fireman Sam will also be making an appearance.

Crowborough Community Fire Station, Beacon Road, Crowborough, 12 noon until 4pm.
