Drive RITE.
Following on from the success of the LIFE courses, East Sussex Fire & Rescue Service has launched RITE (Road Incident Training Education). The course is funded as a result of effective partnership working with other local authorities and is aimed at 15 - 21 year olds. Drive RITE provides intervention training to young people who are actively involved in vehicle related crimes such as joyriding, driving without a licence, speeding offences or driving recklessly. The course provides a wide range of intervention training to deal with the issues of traffic related offences and antisocial behaviour within this realm.
The first course was held on 2nd - 6th July at Uckfield Fire Station and was deemed hugely successful by both the fire crews and the students. A passing out parade marked the end of the course and the parents and guardians of the student’s were invited to attend the event along with local dignitaries and principal officers within East Sussex Fire & Rescue Service.
