Fire at a scrap yard in Dallington |

Firefighters from East Sussex Fire & Rescue Service were confronted with a relatively serious incident when they arrived at a fire at a scrap yard in Three Cups Corner in Dallington on Monday 1st October 2007. The East Sussex Fire & Rescue Service Mobilising & Communication Centre received the first emergency call at 12.48pm and appliances from Battle and Burwash were immediately dispatched to the scene. Shortly after arrival the initial crews requested reinforcements due to the escalating incident. In total, six fire appliances and an Aerial Ladder Platform attended and bought the incident under control using five fire fighting jets and foam. The fire involved a large number of scrap cars, metals and cylinders and the B2096 road was closed for safety purposes at 13.19pm. Firefighters remained at the scene overnight to ensure the fire was completely extinguished. |
