Fatal fire in Newick, East Sussex |

Firefighters from East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service were confronted with a serious incident when they arrived at a fire in a residential property in High Hurst Close, Newick, East Sussex on Saturday 15th December 2007. The Service Mobilising and Communication Centre received an emergency call at 10.53am and fire appliances from Uckfield and Lewes were immediately dispatched to the scene. On arrival, crews quickly established that there was a fire on the ground floor of the premises and sadly one person was found to have died prior to the arrival of the fire appliances. East Sussex Fire & Rescue Service are working with Police to establish the origin of the fire and the circumstances surrounding the death. East Sussex Fire & Rescue Service pass on their sincerest condolences to the family and friends of the person who lost their life.
