The Authority’s vision is to achieve safer and more sustainable communities for all individuals who live in, work in or visit East Sussex and the City of Brighton & Hove.
Since its creation in 1997, the Fire Authority has continued to invest in East Sussex Fire & Rescue Service to make sure it has the right resources to make a real difference in saving lives, reducing injuries, protecting properties and contributing wherever it can to supporting all our local communities.
But greater community expectations of service performance outcomes and coping with the financial pressures placed upon us means that we must continuously review the services we deliver to meet future needs within available resources and at a price local council taxpayers can afford.
This Plan sets out our current level of available resources and aims to show you what we propose to do in the future.
Through this Plan we are asking if you agree with that direction.
We know we need to continue our focus on our aim to deliver the best service we are able to, and we are seeking your support to help us achieve this aim.
A consultation period will now run from 24 September 2012 for 12 weeks, the results of which will then be discussed at the Fire Authority meeting in 17 January 2013.
