Procurement Assistant,
18.5 hours a week,
Based at Eastbourne Headquarters.

A new opportunity has arisen within East Sussex Fire & Rescue Service (ESFRS) for a Procurement Assistant, to provide administrative assistance to the Procurement Manager. The postholder will ensure the effective procurement of goods and services as required in line with best practice in regard to value for money. Specific duties will include:

  • Placing ESFRS orders for procurement of non-stock, services and capital projects.
  • Maintaining records of contractual payments, clearing down commitments from completed orders.
  • Maintaining effective computerised and manual records and ensuring all goods are receipted.
  • Advising of outstanding orders and monitoring correct payments are made.
  • Undertaking effective word processing duties as required to producing a regular flow of completed work to the required standard.

The successful candidate will be required to be educated to GCSE level or equivalent and have previous experience of working in an office environment and administrative procedures. They will possess a working knowledge of Microsoft applications including Word, Excel and Access, knowledge of SAP Financial Management system would be desirable.

The postholder will have: excellent numeracy, accuracy and communication skills with the ability to prioritise and time manage their own workload and provide a client centred approach.

Salary: £14,787 - £17,985 per annum pro rata
