Old Friends Gathering - 23 September 2011
Have you retired from the Fire & Rescue Service and miss those good old days?
Then why not come along and learn more about the modern fire service and enjoy colleagues company over a buffet lunch for a chance to reminisce, swap stories and catch up with old friends?

East Sussex Fire & Rescue Service Mess Club, in conjunction with the National Association of Retired Firefighters (East Sussex) and the Firefighters Charity, would like to invite you and your partner to a fourth gathering of retired employees which will be held on 23 September 2011 at Service Training Centre in Maresfield.
Come along and learn more about the modern fire service and enjoy colleagues company over a buffet lunch from 11am until 3pm.
A chance to reminisce, swap stories and catch up with old friends and colleagues.
The event is offered to anyone who has retired from East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service, East Sussex Fire Brigade or any of the local derivatives prior to amalgamation in 1974. It is intended to create the opportunity to reforge links with our former members and build on the network of support started in 2007, so please feel free to spread the word to any colleagues you are still in touch with.
We will provide a number of presentations on what a modern fire & rescue service does and this year would like to include an opportunity for you to teach us about some of the incidents you attended and what lessons we might relearn or have forgotten. We will of course be building on the success of last year and extending the opportunity to view the old photographs and memorabilia that the organisation is continuing to collect.
