Uckfield Community Fire Station

The present building replaced the original (1935) in Bell Farm Road in 1996.

Wholetime and retained firefighters crew two pumping appliances, a Heavy Rescue Vehicle and provide cover to a large Rural Area.

Uckfield provides support for all types Heavy Collision type incidents throughout Sussex.

Uckfield also serves the outlying villages of Maresfield, Fletching, Piltdown.

The Establishment is the number of posts required to make the Station fully resourced. This Station has an establishment of:-

  • 12 Wholetime Firefighters.
  • 12 Retained units.

Note: Depending on the number of hours the firefighter can commit to, more than one Retained Firefighter may fill a Retained Unit.

The Retained Firefighters Drill night is Monday at 19.00 hrs.

Extended Rescue Pump - 1:7 Foam

Multi purpose appliance that carries both firefighting and rescue equipment including dedicated hydraulic rescue tools, water safety and rescue equipment, oxygen, etc. It carries 1800 litres of water, a pump can deliver 2250 litres of water per minute with additional 1-7 Foam capability. It is also equipped with a variety of ladders including a 13.5 metre extension ladder.

Water Tender Ladder

Multi purpose appliance that carries both firefighting and rescue equipment. It carries 1800 litres of water and a pump that can deliver 2250 litres of water per minute.

Dual Purpose Truck

A flat bed truck provided to support the stations role as a holder and provider of foam stocks, inflatable air structure, salvage equipment etc.

Water Carrier

Each Station Area has its own particular mix of risks and problems and tools such as FSEC help to identify and quantify these Risks.

This results in specific aims and objectives per station which are incorporated into the Station Action Plan.

The Station Action Plan highlights performance over the last year and the borough targets to which this station contributes for this year.
