Preston Circus Community Fire Station

The present building replaced the original in Preston Circus in 1938.

Wholetime firefighters crew two pumping appliances and an Aerial Ladder Platform, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and provide cover for the City of Brighton and support Roedean Fire Station in the east of the city, an area of approximately 5200 hectares.

Premises of note are the Royal Pavillion, the Lanes and the Palace Pier as well as a highly densely populated area of large converted Victorian houses.

The Aerial ladder platform provides service-wide assistance.

The Establishment is the number of posts required to make the Station fully resourced. This Station has an establishment of:-

  • 61 Wholetime Firefighters.

Aerial Ladder Platform

This is a multi-purpose firefighting and rescue vehicle that can deliver a safe working platform up to 32 metres and is capable of delivering 2900 litres of water per minute.

Extended Rescue Pump

Volvo Extended Rescue Pump carrying a variety of ladders including a 13.5 metre ladder, 1800 litres water and a pump capable of supplying 2250 litres/min. It is a multi purpose appliance carrying a large amount of equipment including dedicated hydraulic rescue tools, water safety and rescue equipment, oxygen, etc.

Water Tender Ladder

Multi purpose appliance that carries both firefighting and rescue equipment. It carries 1800 litres of water and a pump that can deliver 2250 litres of water per minute.
