Join us at Seaford Open Day – 3 June 2017
Seaford Community Fire Station is opening its doors for its annual open day this Saturday, 3 June 2017.
The event gives the public a chance to meet their local firefighters and find out more about our work. There will be demonstrations showing how to deal with a cooking fire and how firefighters free casualties from a car after a road traffic collision.
People will also be able to look at a variety of fire appliances in-between the displays, and there will be the opportunity to try out the seat belt sled. The sled allows users to experience what happens to their body when a car stops suddenly and demonstrates the importance of wearing a seat belt. Crews will be on hand to talk to members of the public about the importance of road safety and taking care when driving during the Summer months.
Advisers will be on hand to talk about fire safety and there will be the chance to book a Home Safety Visits. These are offered to people who are most at risk from fires in their homes. Our specially trained staff will visit your home and give you advice on how to reduce the risk of having a fire. Contact us if you or someone you know would like to find out more: 0800 177 7069.
Local lifeguards, South East Coast Ambulance and the Coastguard will also be there.
The fun takes place between 11am and 3pm at the fire station on Cradle Hill Road, Seaford, East Sussex, BN25 3JA.
