Overnight round up 24 October 2017

East Sussex Fire & Rescue Service responded to a number of incidents:

At 17:41 on 23rd October, crews from Burwash and Heathfield attended an RTC at Carricks Hill, Dallington.  The RTC involved two cars and crews used hydraulic equipment to release one person.  

At 18:28 on 23rd October, Brighton firefighters attended a false alarm in Stanford Avenue.  This was due to an alarm system fault.      

At 19:26 on 23rd October, crews from Lewes and Brighton attended a business property at Greystone Quarry, Southerham following reports of a fire in a small container.  The fire was extinguished using a hose reel jet.      

At 20:36 on 23rd October, Roedean firefighters attended a false alarm in Rodmell Avenue, Saltdean.  This was due to a fire alarm being triggered by fumes from cooking.  A home safety visit was carried out.              

At 21:06 on 23rd October, crews from Brighton attended a false alarm at a university building on Lewes Road, Brighton.  This was due to an alarm system fault.  

At 21:09 on 23rd October, four fire engines and an aerial ladder platform from Roedean, Brighton (Preston Circus) and Hove attended a fire at a bar in the Old Steine, Brighton.  The fire was on the ground floor of a disused bar with residential accommodation above. Six breathing apparatus and two hose reels were used.   Crews extinguished the fire.  There are no reports of injuries.  An investigation will take place in to the cause.      

At 21:36 on 23rd October, Seaford crews attended a false alarm at a property on Newfield Road, Newhaven.   The alarm was triggered by fumes from cooking.   

At 21:58 on 23rd October, firefighters from Hastings attended an RTC on Bohemia Road, Hastings.  The RTC involved a car crashing in to a parked HGV.  Crews made the car safe.      

At 01:32 on 24th October, crews from Brighton attended a false alarm with good intent at a hotel in Ship Street, Brighton.  The false alarm was caused by an overheated light fitting.      

At 04:33 on 24th October, firefighters from Newhaven attended a false alarm at a property on Newfield Road, Newhaven.

At 04:38 on 24th October, crews from Roedean attended a false alarm at Stanstead Crescent, Brighton.
