East Sussex Fire and Rescue crews are currently dealing with a fire covering 6 hectares of Ashdown Forest in the Kingstanding Area.
6 fire engines, 4 Land Rovers, a water carrier and the Control unit, are in attendance with the assistance of Kent and West Sussex Fire and Rescue Services.
Firefighters, who were called to the scene at 9:32, are tackling the fire using beaters.
Update - 05:00 Monday 29 April.
The fire has been brought under control and operations have been scaled back to two fire engines and two Land rovers. Crews are expected to remain at the scene for most of the morning dealing with the incident.
