Crews tackle house fire in Hailsham

East Sussex Fire & Rescue Service were sent to a property in Hailsham, after a fire was reported in the roof of the house.

Six appliances were mobilised at 14.09 this afternoon (19 March) and remain at the scene.

Additional appliances, including a water carrier, an Aerial Ladder Platform and a Dual Purpose Truck, providing foam stocks, inflatable air structure and salvage equipment, are also attending.

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus tackled the fire in Ersham Road using one hose reel jet, along with 1-in-7 foam.

There are no reports of any injuries and a resident self-evacuated the property.

The first-floor of the building, as well as the roof, are fully engulfed and three main jets are being used by firefighters at the incident.
