Despite the wet weather, families flocked to Crowborough’s hugely successful free Fun and Safety Day.

Crowborough Community Fire Station threw open its doors today (9 April) to provide great entertainment for youngsters looking for something to do in the Easter Holiday.

Station  Manager Fleur Wilks said: “It was fantastic to see such a huge turnout, which enabled us to deliver live-saving advice in a fun environment.

“We always welcome the opportunity to meet with residents on station to show them what we do. Thank you to all those who supported their local fire station, as well as our partners who supported the event.”

These were just some of the fab activities organised for revellers:

  • Fire & Water Safety
  • Road and Sail Safety
  • Crime and accident prevention
  • Children’s Entertainment (The Crowborough Players and Johnathan the Magician)
  • Arts & Crafts
  • Outdoor Games
  • Face Painting
  • Display from the ESFRS Large Animal Rescue Unit
  • Community Speedwatch
  • Freedom leisure fitness advise
  • The Fire Fighters Charity
  • ESFRS Swift Water Rescue Team
  • Refreshments provided by Stepping Stones Pre-school in Maresfield

Don't miss out on our other two Fun & Safety Days for kids this Easter in Hailsham and Uckfield:

  • Hailsham at the James West Community Centre on 10 April (10-1pm).
  • Uckfield’s Community Fire Station between 10am-1pm 11 April.

We look forward to seeing you there!
