Fire at derelict building in Hove

East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service were called at 19.18 today (14 June 2019) to reports of smoking coming from a derelict industrial building in Hove. A number of repeat 999 calls were received from members of the public.

As of 20.00, four fire engines are at the scene on School Road.

Crews are using breathing apparatus and main jets.

Sussex Police have been requested to help with road management.

There are no reports of injuries.

Locals are being asked to avoid the area and keep doors and windows closed due to the smoke.
