Fire Service attends Forestry Fire

East Sussex Fire & Rescue Service is currently attending a fire in the open in Hartfield.

Four appliances from Crowborough, Forest Row and East Grinstead were mobilised at 12.39 this afternoon (14 January), along with four Land Rovers from Heathfield, Crowborough, Haywards Heath and East Grinstead. A Water Carrier from Uckfield is also at the scene.

The fire in Chuck Hatch Lane, covers an area believed to be 300 metres by metres of forestry.

Drivers are advised to avoid the area around B2026, while the incident is ongoing.

**Update**- As of 15:47, the incident was been scaled down to one Land Rover.  The Fire Service have been working closely with Forest Rangers to tackle the fire at the rear of Wrens Warren.
