East Sussex Fire & Rescue Service is delighted to be attending Plumpton College Open Day and Spring Fair.
Crews will be there for the event being held on Saturday 11th May 2019, from 10am to 5pm, showcasing a number of static and interactive displays, around key themes of Fire, Road and Water Safety, to keep residents safe. Visitors will be able to meet firefighters, ask about safety advice, as well as see our different rescue vehicles.
The college provides courses from Blacksmithing to Agriculture and Equine Management.
Station Manager David Washington said: “Our Service is proud to attend this event and showcase your Fire and rescue service as well as crews.
"Working with and rescuing animals in distress is a regularly part of East Sussex Fire & Rescue Service’s commitment and it is recognised that the hazards faced in animal rescue requires specialist knowledge and Skills.
"Over the years, East Sussex Fire & Rescue Service has attended a wide range of animal rescue incidents, including; animals trapped in rivers, bogs, road traffic collisions on motorways, and even in swimming pools."
We will be at the campus, showing off some of our fire engines and other appliances. The event also has lots of demonstrations, attractions, children's activities and farm displays.
