Incident round-up 12th July

Yesterday, East Sussex Fire and Rescue attended a variety of incidents:-

  • At 09:47, firefighters from Lewes attended an RTC involving two vehicles on Ditchling Road, Plumpton.  Crews assisted SECAMB in making the scene safe.        
  • At 10:47, firefighters from Hailsham and Eastbourne attended a hotel on Marine Parade, Eastbourne following reports of persons shut in a lift.  Crews released two people.             
  • At 11:08, Bexhill firefighters attended a property on London Road, Bexhill to carry out an animal rescue.  Crews used a 10.5m ladder to rescue a seagull which was trapped in netting.          
  • At 11:51, Brighton firefighters carried out an animal rescue at Preston Circus, Brighton.  One seagull was injured on a public highway.  Crews removed the seagull and handed over the injured bird to the RSPCA.   
  • At 13:31, firefighters from The Ridge attended a fire in the open on Broomsgrove Road, Hastings.  Crews used one Hose Reel to extinguish the fire. 
  • At 14:35, Brighton firefighters attended a commercial property on The Droveway, Hove following reports of fire alarms sounding.  A small fire had emanated from a power capacitor.  Crews isolated the electrics and made the scene safe.   
  • At 18:28, firefighters from Newhaven and Seaford attended an RTC involving one car on Chyngton Way, Seaford.  Crews assisted Sussex Police and SECAMB in making the scene safe.     
  • At 18:56, Hove firefighters attended a fire in the open on Dyke Road Avenue, Hove.  Crews used flex packs and fire buckets to extinguish the fire.            
  • At 19:42, firefighters from Heathfield and Burwash attended an RTC involving two cars on Burwash Road, Heathfield.  Crews released one person who was handed over in to the care of SECAMB.  Crews made the scene safe.
