Incident round-up 3 December

East Sussex Fire & Rescue Service attended a variety of overnight incidents: 

  • At 15.24 yesterday (2 December) two appliances were sent to Melbourne Street, Brighton, following reports of a car in collision with a building. Firefighters made the scene safe. One casualty was left in the care of paramedics and a building inspector was requested. 
  • At 16.36 yesterday (2 December) three appliances were sent to a property in Trinity Place, Eastbourne, following reports of a fire, which turned out to be a false alarm, with good intent, caused by overcooked food. 
  • At 16.58 yesterday (2 December) a crew were mobilised to Bulverhythe Recreation Ground, Bexhill Road, where they rescued a dog locked in a car. 
  •  At 18:04 yesterday (2 December) a crew were sent to Resting Oak Hill, Cooksbridge, where they tackled a chimney fire. 
  •  At 18.11 yesterday (2 December) Eastbourne firefighters were sent to a fire in the open in Play Park, Larkspur Drive, Eastbourne, where they used a flex pack to tackle the fire. Police were requested to attend, due to fire crews being both verbally and physically assaulted by local youths. Stones and planks of wood were being thrown. 
  • At 20.32 yesterday (2 December) three appliances were sent to a car fire along A27 Eastbound Kingston, Brighton, where crews used one hose reel jet to tackle the fire. 
  • At 23:32 yesterday (2 December) an appliance was sent to Crescent Drive South, Brighton, following reports of a road traffic collision involving two private vehicles, resulting in leaking fuel. Crews made the area safe. 
  • At 00:12 this morning (3 December) a crew were sent to Brading Close, Hastings, where they tackled a moped fire using one hose reel jet. Firefighters made the area safe. 
  • At 00:49 this morning (3 December) a crew were sent to Terminus Road, Eastbourne, where they tackled a bin fire using one hose reel jet.
