Overnight Incident Round-Up 13 May

East Sussex Fire & Rescue Service attended a variety of overnight incidents:

  •  At 18.18 yesterday (12 May) Rye firefighters were sent to Castle Farm Lane, in Winchelsea, where they rescued one man, using a 12.5 metre ladder, who had climbed up part of Camber Castle.
  •  At 18.41 yesterday (12 May) Eastbourne firefighters were sent to Croxden Way, in Eastbourne, where one resident was treated with oxygen after breathing in smoke, after a pan of food overheated.
  •  At 19.02 yesterday (12 May) Hove firefighters were sent to St Michael’s Road, in Portslade, following a fire in the open, which transpired to be a false alarm with good intent, due to controlled burning.
  •  At 19.13 yesterday (12 May) Eastbourne firefighters were sent to Penhurst Close, in Eastbourne, due to a small fire in the open.
  •  At 19.48 yesterday (12 May) Barcombe firefighters were sent to Allington Crescent, in Newick, following reports of a chimney fire. A specialist kit was used to tackle the incident.
  •  At 20.15 yesterday (12 May) Hastings firefighters were sent to Battle Road, in St Leonards, following reports of a fire in the open, which turned out to be a false alarm with good intent.
  • At 20.25 yesterday (12 May) Roedean firefighters were sent to Haybourne Road, in Brighton, following a report of a fire in the open, due to false alarm with good intent.
  •  At 20.37 yesterday (12 May) Hailsham firefighters were sent to Mill Road, Hailsham, due to a fire in the open, due to a false alarm with good intent.
  •  At 21.48 yesterday (12 May) two appliances were sent to a property in Eastern Road, in Brighton, due to a false alarm.
  •  At 23.58 yesterday (12 May) two appliances were sent to Church Road, in Hove, following reports of a smell of burning from a fuse box, which transpired to be false alarm caused by fumes from cooking.
  •  At 1.15 this morning (13 May) three appliances were sent to Knoll Crescent, in Eastbourne, due to a fire in the open caused by a shed fire between two properties. Everyone was accounted for and one main jet was used to tackle the fire. Crews spent time damping down and cutting away. A fire investigation was carried out.
  •   At 1.23 this morning (13 May) Bexhill firefighters were sent to London Road, in Bexhill, following a false alarm call-out.
  •   At 1.35 this morning (13 May) two appliances were sent to Pevensey Road, in Eastbourne, due to a small fire inside a property, which was out on arrival.
  •  At 2.48 this morning (13 May) Bexhill firefighters were sent to Oak Road, in Bexhill, following reports of a fuel spillage, after a moped overturned. Upon arrival, nothing was found and transpired to be a false alarm.
  •  At 4.49 this morning (13 May) firefighters were sent to Old Steine, in Brighton, where one man was released from a lift.
