Overnight incident round-up 26 April

Overnight, East Sussex fire and Rescue attended a variety of incidents:- 

  • At 17.05 yesterday (25 April) Brighton and Hove firefighters were sent to a property in Station Road, Portslade, Brighton, where they rescued people stuck in a lift.
  •  At 18.08 yesterday (25 April) Eastbourne firefighters were sent to a property in South Street, in Eastbourne, due to a false alarm, caused by steam from a shower.
  •  At 18.22 yesterday (25 April) three appliances were sent to a property in Nevill Road, Lewes, following reports of a faulty dishwasher, which was emitting smoke. The dishwasher was removed from the premises.
  •  At 20.01 yesterday (25 April) Hastings firefighters were mobilised to a fire in the open, at Hastings Country Park Lower Coastguard Lane, Fairlight, where the crew used a small fire shovel and flexpack to tackle the incident. Please be countryside aware.
  •  At 20.29 yesterday (25 April) Brighton firefighters were sent to The Highway, in Brighton, where a fire in the open was reported. This was a false alarm with good intent, due to controlled burning.
  •  At 21.43 yesterday (25 April) Uckfield firefighters were sent to a car park in Sharpsbridge Lane, Piltdown, following reports of a car on fire. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used one hose reel jet to tackle the fire, along with 1-in-7 foarm.
  •  At 21.57 yesterday (25 April) Eastbourne firefighters were sent to a property at The Crumbles, in Eastbourne, which turned out to be a false alarm. Help us to reduce false alarms.
  •  At 23.02 yesterday (25 April) Lewes firefighters were sent to Bradford Road, Lewes, where they used one hose reel jet to tackle a bin fire.
  •  At 5.55 this morning (26 April) Brighton firefighters were sent to a car park in Black Lion Stree, in Brighton, which turned out to be a false alarm.
