Overnight incident round-up 26th June

Overnight, East Sussex Fire and Rescue attended a variety of incidents:-

  • At 18:04, firefighters from Brighton together with support from West Sussex attended a car fire on A23 (Southbound), Hassocks.  Crews made the scene safe. 
  • At 18:39, firefighters from Roedean and Brighton attended a residential building on Warren Way, Brighton following reports of persons shut in a lift.  Crews released one person.             
  • At 21:24, Hove firefighters attended a bin fire in Hove Lagoon, Hove.  Crews used one Hose Reel to extinguish the fire.          
  • At 21:32, firefighters from Barcombe, Lewes supported West Sussex firefighters in attending a fire in a residential property on Balneath Manor Lane, South Chailey.  The fire emanated from an electrical intake.  The fire then spread to the ceiling joists.  Crews used six Breathing Apparatus, Thermal Imaging Cameras, CO2 and Hose Reels to extinguish the fire.             
  • At 22:20, Brighton firefighters attended a residential property on Bromley Road, Brighton to carry out an animal rescue.  Firefighters used a triple extension ladder to release a cat which was trapped in guttering.           
  • At 02:30, Eastbourne firefighters attended King Edwards Parade, Eastbourne following reports of a beach hut fire.  Crews used one Hose Reel Jet and 1 in 7 foam to extinguish the fire.
