Overnight incident round-up 31st October

Overnight, East Sussex Fire and Rescue attended a variety of incidents:-

  • At 19:46, firefighters from Eastbourne and Hailsham attended a fire in a residential property on Alfrey Road, Eastbourne.  Crews used four Breathing Apparatus and one Hose Reel Jet to extinguish the fire and a Positive Pressure Ventilation fan to clear the property of smoke. The fire is believed to have been accidental. 
  • At 21:16, Hastings firefighters attended a fire in the open on Lower Park road, Hastings.  Crews used one Hose Reel to extinguish the fire.                 
  • At 01:12, Hove firefighters attended a residential property on Thornhill Rise, Portslade following reports of a fire.  Crews used two Breathing Apparatus and one Hose Reel Jet to extinguish a small kitchen fire.  Crews then used a Positive Pressure Ventilation fan to clear the property of smoke.  Crews also carried out a Home Safety Visit.    One resident was handed over in to the care of SECAMB after suffering smoke inhalation.
