Weekend incident round-up 12th/13th/14th July

Over the weekend, East Sussex Fire and Rescue attended a variety of incidents:-

Friday 12th July

  • At 18:31, Brighton firefighters attended a residential building in the Old Steine, Brighton following reports of flooding affecting electrics.  Crews used a triple extension ladder to reach the leak and promptly isolated the leak and made the scene safe.     
  • At 19:27, Roedean firefighters attended a residential property on Colgate Close, Brighton following reports of an out of control bonfire.  Crews used one Hose Reel Jet to extinguish the fire.           
  • At 22:23, Hove firefighters attended a residential property on First Avenue. Hove following reports of a flooding.  Crews isolated the flood and electrics and made the scene safe.           
  • At 22:47, Eastbourne firefighters attended a residential property on Pensfold Drive, Eastbourne following reports of a fire in the open.  Crews used one Hose Reel to extinguish a shed fire.            
  • At 23:42, Rye firefighters attended a fire in the open on Main Street, Peasmarsh.  Crews used one Hose Reel Jet to extinguish the fire.             

Saturday 13th July

  • At 03:53, Hove firefighters attended a fire in the open on Old Barn Way, Southwick.  Crews used fire buckets to extinguish the fire.          
  • At 07:43, firefighters from The Ridge, Hastings and Broad Oak attended a fire in the open on an industrial complex on Upper Bromsgrove Road, Hastings.  Crews used an extension ladder to reach the fire and used one Hose Reel Jet to extinguish the fire. 
  • At 09:43, Brighton firefighters attended a commercial property on North Street, Brighton to carry out an animal rescue.  Crews released one pigeon that was trapped in netting.             
  • At 11:47, Eastbourne firefighters attended an RTC involving two vehicles on Willingdon Drove, Eastbourne.  Crews released one person who was handed over in to the care of SECAMB.       
  • At 18:29, firefighters from Uckfield and Crowborough attended a caravan fire on Legsheath Lane, Forest Row.  Crews used one Hose Reel Jet to extinguish the fire.             
  • At 19:45, Brighton firefighters attended a fire in the open on Kings Esplanade, Hove.  Crews used fire buckets to extinguish the fire. 
  • At 21:06, Brighton firefighters attended a residential property on Bedford Place, Brighton following reports of a flooding affecting electrics.       Crews used a 12m ladder to access the property.  Crews isolated the leak and electrics.   
  • At 21:59, Brighton firefighters attended a bin fire on Kings Road, Brighton.  Crews used one Hose Reel Jet to extinguish the fire.  

Sunday 14th July

  • At 01:40, Brighton firefighters attended a fire in the open on Madeira Drive, Brighton.  Crews used fire buckets to extinguish the fire.          
  • At 01:43, firefighters from Rye and Broad Oak attended a fire in the open on Old Lydd Road, Camber.  Crews used one Hose Reel Jet to extinguish a bin fire. 
  • At 08:52, Hove firefighters attended English Close, Hove to carry out an animal rescue.  Crews released one hedgehog who was trapped on a metal spring.            
  • At 17:10, firefighters from Bexhill attended a fire in the open on Dorset Road, Bexhill.  Crews used one Hose Reel Jet to extinguish the fire.           
  • At 19:21, Brighton firefighters attended a fire in the open in the Old Steine, Brighton.  Crews used fire buckets to extinguish a tent fire.      
  • At 20:15, Rye firefighters attended an RTC involving one motorbike on Station Approach, Rye.  One motorcyclist had come off their bike due to oil on the road.  One casualty was handed over in to the care of SECAMB.  Crews made the scene safe. 
  • At 20:40, Eastbourne firefighters attended a cinema at The Beacon, Eastbourne following reports of persons shut in a lift.  Crews released four people.           
  • At 23:10, Hailsham firefighters attended a car fire on Diplocks Way, Hailsham.  Crews used one Hose Reel Jet and one Breathing Apparatus to extinguish the fire.           
  • At 23:23, Brighton firefighters attended an RTC involving two vehicles on Valley Drive, Brighton.  No persons were trapped.  Crews made the scene safe.
