Weekend incident round-up 14th-17th June

Over the weekend, East Sussex Fire and Rescue attended a variety of incidents:-

Friday 14th June

  • At 21:31, Hove firefighters attended a residential property on Wilbury Road, Hove to carry out an animal rescue.  Firefighters rescued one seagull from the rooftop.
  • At 22:32, firefighters from Roedean and Brighton attended a residential property on Selsfield Drive, Brighton following reports of a fire.  Crews used four Breathing Apparatus and two Hose Reel Jets to extinguish the fire.  All persons were accounted for.         

Saturday 15th June

  • At 00:26, firefighters from Seaford attended a fire in the open on Broad Street North, Seaford.  Crews used one Hose Reel Jet to extinguish the fire. 
  • At 01:45, Seaford firefighters attended a fire in the open on the Esplanade, Seaford.  Crews used one Hose Reel Jet to extinguish the fire. 
  • At 10:32, firefighters from Seaford and Newhaven attended a supermarket on Dane Road, Seaford following reports of persons shut in a lift.  Crews released one person. 
  • At 12:11, Hastings firefighters attended Middle Road, Hastings following reports of a fire in the open.  Crews used one Hose Reel Jet to extinguish a fence fire.        
  • At 13:00, firefighters from Hove and Brighton attended an RTC involving two vehicles on Carden Hill, Brighton.  Crews released one person who was trapped and handed them over in to the care of SECAMB.         
  • At 18:47, Eastbourne firefighters attended an RTC involving two vehicles on Upperton Road, Eastbourne.  Crews made the scene safe. 
  • At 21:11, Barcombe firefighters attended a car fire on Ashurst Lane, Plumpton.  Crews used two Breathing Apparatus and two Hose Reel Jets to extinguish the fire.           

Sunday 16th June

  • At 13:29, Newhaven firefighters attended Church Hill, Newhaven to carry out an animal rescue.  One cat was trapped under the rear wheel of a vehicle.  Crews used airbags to release the cat.  The feline was handed over in to the care of the RSPCA. 
  • At 17:36, Brighton firefighters attended Stanford Avenue, Brighton following reports of a fire up against a building.  Crews used one Hose Reel Jet to extinguish the fire.     
  • At 18:45, firefighters from Bexhill and Hastings attended an RTC involving three vehicles on Chantry Lane, Bexhill.  Crews released one person who was left in the care of SECAMB.       
  • At 22:57, Crowborough firefighters attended a residential property on Forest Dene, Jarvis Brook following reports of a fire.  Crews used two Breathing Apparatus and one Hose Reel Jet to extinguish the fire.  Crews then used a Positive Pressure Ventilation Fan to disperse smoke in the property.  All persons were accounted for.         

Monday 17th June

  • At 01:24, firefighters from Eastbourne and Pevensey attended a sports club on Jevington Road, Jevington following reports of a fire.  Crews used one Hose Reel Jet and 1 in 7 foam to extinguish the fire.
