Weekend incident round up 1st and 2nd June
Over the weekend, East Sussex Fire and Rescue attended a variety of incidents:-
Saturday 1st June
- At 09:10, Eastbourne firefighters attended a residential property on Cavendish Place, Eastbourne to carry out an animal rescue. Crews used a triple extension ladder to release a fox cub. The fox cub was handed over in to the care of the RSPCA.
- At 11:55, Brighton firefighters attended a commercial premises on George Street, Brighton following reports of a flooding. Crews isolated the leak and electrics.
- At 13:22, firefighters from Bexhill and Hastings attended a property on Sutherland Avenue, Bexhill following reports of persons shut in a lift. Crews released two people.
- At 13:50, firefighters from Battle and Bexhill attended a caravan fire on Victoria Road, Herstmonceux. Crews used one hose reel to extinguish the fire.
- At 13:52, Lewes firefighters attended Fullers Road, Lewes to carry out an animal rescue. Crews released one dog who was trapped behind fencing.
- At 14:10, firefighters from The Ridge attended a fire in the open on Waterside Close, Hastings. Crews used a flax pack to extinguish the fire.
- At 15:20, Brighton firefighters attended Preston Park, Brighton following reports of a fire in the open. Crews used buckets of water to extinguish a bin fire.
- At 17:51, Eastbourne firefighters attended a property on The Goffs, Eastbourne following reports of persons shut in a lift. Crews released four people.
- At 18:13, Brighton firefighters attended a bin fire on Preston Road, Brighton. Crews extinguish the fire using buckets of water.
- At 20:22, firefighters from Bexhill attended an RTC on St Georges Road, Bexhill. One car had overturned. Crews released one casualty who was handed over in to the care of SECAMB.
- At 20:41, Brighton firefighters attended a commercial property on George Street following reports of a flooding. Crews isolated the leak and carried out salvage.
- At 20:55, firefighters from The Ridge attended a bin fire on Denmark Place, Hastings. Crews used buckets of water to extinguish the fire.
- At 21:58, firefighters from The Ridge attended a fire in the open on Mendip Gardens, Hastings. Crews used buckets of water to extinguish the fire.
Sunday 2nd June
- At 03:14, firefighters from The Ridge and Hastings attended a fire in the open on Quantock Gardens, Hastings. Crews extinguished the fire.
- At 04:18, Brighton firefighters attended a fire in the open on Heath Hill Avenue, Brighton. Crews used buckets of water to extinguish the fire.
- At 06:51, Eastbourne firefighters attended a residential property on Petworth Place, Eastbourne following reports of a flooding. Crews isolated the leak.
- At 10:45, firefighters from Crowborough attended Hartfield Road, Colemans Hatch to carry out an animal rescue. Crews released one cat who had been trapped in a car.
- At 10:45, Roedean firefighters attended a residential property on St Georges Road, Brighton following reports of a fire. The small fire emanated from a fuseboard and was out on arrival. Crews made the scene safe and used a Positive Pressure Ventilation fan to disperse the smoke,
- At 11:55, Hastings firefighters attended a residential property on Queens Road, Hastings following reports of a flood. Crews used an aerial ladder platform to locate the leak and the leak was isolated.
- At 20:54, Roedean firefighters attended Madeira Drive, Brighton to assist SECAMB to help retrieve a person who had fallen in to the bushes. Crews used a bow saw to cut away bushes and undergrowth to access the casualty.
- At 22:44, Bexhill firefighters attended a fire in the open on Watermill Lane, Bexhill. Crews used a flex pack in use.
