Weekend incident round-up 28th and 29th September

Over the weekend, East Sussex Fire and Rescue attended a variety of incidents:-

28th September

  • At 13:08, firefighters from Uckfield and Crowborough carried out an animal rescue at a farm on Spithurst Road, Barcombe.  Crews rescued one calf from a riverbank.  The caller had used the what3words app to help firefighters locate the animal.            
  • At 15:30, firefighters from Hastings attended a residential property on Magdalen Road, St Leonards following reports of a flood.  Crews isolated the flood and made the scene safe.               
  • At 16:08, Brighton firefighters attended a fire in the open on The Level, Lewes Road, Brighton.  Crews used a flexpack to extinguish the fire.        
  • At 17:15, Brighton firefighters attended a fire in the open on The Level, Lewes Road, Brighton.  Crews used one Hose Reel to extinguish the fire.             
  • At 19:55, Hove firefighters attended a fire in the open on Gleebelands Close, Shoreham by Sea.  Crews used fire buckets to extinguish the fire.        
  • At 19:59, firefighters from The Ridge and Hastings attended an RTC involving one car on London Road, St Leonards on Sea.  No persons were trapped.  Crews made the scene safe.      

29th September

  • At 05:55, Brighton firefighters attended a vehicle fire on London Road, Brighton.  Crews used one Breathing Apparatus and one Hose Reel Jet to extinguish the fire.           
  • At 11:35, crews from Burwash and Uckfield attended a property on High Street, Heathfield following reports of persons shut in a lift.  Crews released one person.   
  • At 12:01, crews from Bexhill and Hastings attended a residential property on Saxon Rise, Bexhill following reports of a fire in an electrical intake on the side of the property.  Crews used CO2 to extinguish the fire. 
  • At 12:43, firefighters from Newhaven attended a residential property on Central Avenue, Telscombe Cliffs following reports of persons shut in a lift.  Crews released one person.             
  • At 13:22, Brighton firefighters attended a property on Frederick Place, Brighton following reports of a flooding.  Crews isolated the leak.          
  • At 15:43, firefighters from Brighton supported West Sussex Fire and Rescue in attended a fire in a residential property on London Road, Henfield.     
  • At 16:26, crews from Newhaven, Barcombe, Roedean, Brighton, Hove together with crews from West Sussex attended a property on Albion Hill, Brighton following reports of a fire in a flat on the 8th floor.  On arrival, a small fire in a grill pan had been extinguished.  Crews carried out a Home Safety Visit.         
  • At 21:05, Eastbourne firefighters attended a property on Milfol Drive, Eastbourne following reports of persons shut in a lift.  Crews released one person.        
  • At 21:08, firefighters from Hove and Brighton attended a car fire on the junction between the A27 and the A23.  Crews extinguished the fire and made the scene safe.         
  • At 21:14, firefighters from Roedean and Lewes attended a residential property on Sussex Square, Brighton following reports of persons shut in a lift.  Crews released three people.             
  • At 23:14, firefighters from Hastings attended a car fire on Bexhill Road, St Leonards on Sea.  Crews used 1 in 7 foam and a jet hose to extinguish the fire.
