On 1 June 2020, Eastbourne and Crowborough Fire Cadets from East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service will begin their 999 challenge to raise money for the Fire Fighters Charity.
It consists of 9 different personal challenges, 9 times (or minutes/ hours/ kilometres/ miles) for 9 consecutive days.
Examples include 9 minutes of mindfulness, 9 acts of kindness, 9 press ups and so on.
These challenges have been set individually by our Eastbourne and Crowborough Fire Cadets and Cadet Leaders. They are designed to push themselves but stay safe like so many of the people keeping our country going are having to do whilst we all fight against Covid 19.
About the Fire Fighters Charity
The Fire Fighters Charity provide psychological and physical rehabilitation to the UK Fire Service community at three centres across England as well as recuperation breaks and various other types of social support.
This year, the coronavirus pandemic has brought The Fire Fighters Charity's traditional fundraising to a halt, with the cancellation or postponement of countless events and challenges.
The Cadets are hoping to raise a small amount of the £10m it takes to provide those services.
