IEast Sussex Fire and Rescue Service was called at 23.29 on 30 December 2020 to reports of an industrial building on fire,
The property on Faraday Close in Eastbourne was being used as a vehicle renting building.
Four fire engines from Eastbourne, Hailsham and Seaford were sent to the scene along with three officers and put the fire out.
There are no reports of any injuries.
The fire is being treated as accidental. An electrical extension lead which had not been turned off had been stored in a coiled position.

Businesses are being reminded of simple safety measures:
• Ensure you have an up to date risk assessment which identifies risks and fire safety measures
• Make sure these measures are put in place and reviewed on a regular basis
• Ensure all staff are trained in how to prevent a fire and what to do if there is an emergency
• Isolate electrics and appliances, especially if you have had to reduce opening hours or close due to Covid 19
