Smoking is the biggest house fire killer and on No Smoking Day (March 11) East Sussex Fire & Rescue Service wants to help smokers give up the habit.
Cigarettes and other smoking products cause a third of all accidental fire fatalities in the home – the biggest killer in accidental fires. Many can be easily prevented by simply taking more care and East Sussex Fire & Rescue Service actively supports those trying to stop.
Service’s Health Co-ordinator, Sophie Hepworth, said: “If you, or any of your friends, family or colleagues are interested in quitting smoking; you are five times more likely to succeed with the help of a trained smoking advisor.”
