Lewes is looking for new on call firefighters

Date : 06 February 2020

Lewes Community Fire Station will be welcoming would-be on-call firefighters at a special Have a Go day this March.

The station is opening it’s doors to anyone interested in finding out more about becoming part of the East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service team and helping protect the local community.

Address: North Street, East Sussex, BN7 2PE

Please note there will no parking available on station but there are car parks nearby.

About on call firefighters

On call firefighters work a Retained Duty System and are an integral part of the county's fire cover. They enable us to crew more fire engines in some of the more rural and remote areas. Applicants have to work or live five minutes from one of our retained stations so they can respond quickly if there is an emergency. They do this alongside their day jobs or raising a family.
