Overnight incident round-up 13th May

Overnight East Sussex Fire and Rescue attended a variety of incidents:-

  • At 19:35, firefighters from Crowborough attended a fire in the open on Palesgate Lane, Crowborough.  The fire had affected a 20m x 10m area of gorse and heather.  Crews used flexpacks to extinguish the fire.          
  • At 22:50, Eastbourne firefighters attended a residential property on Beach Road, Eastbourne following report of a flood.  Crews isolated the flood from the exterior.    
  • At 00:06, firefighters from Lewes, Roedean, Brighton and Hove attended a fire in a garden on Oxford Street, Brighton.  Crews used four Breathing Apparatus, two Hose Reel Jets to extinguish the fire.  Firefighters also used an Aerial Ladder Platform to ensure that the fire had not spread to the property’s roof space.  A Fire Investigation is due to take place today. 
  • At 01:24, firefighters from Uckfield, Lewes and Crowborough were assisted by West Sussex Fire and Rescue in tackling a fire in the open on North Common Road, North Chailey.  Crews used hose reel jets and beaters to extinguish a fire that affected 30m x 60m of woodland.  Firefighters will be revisiting the site today to carry out a reinspection.
