Overnight incident round-up 26th February
Overnight, East Sussex Fire and Rescue attended a variety of incidents:-
- At 18:01, Bexhill firefighters attended an RTC involving two vehicles on King Offa Way, Bexhill. No persons were trapped and crews made the scene safe.
- At 20:29, firefighters from Brighton, Roedean, Hove and Lewes attended a restaurant on Western Road, Hove following reports of a basement fire. Crews used six Breathing Apparatus and two Hose Reel Jets to extinguish the fire. Residential flats above the restaurant were evacuated as a precaution. A Fire Investigation took place and the cause was deemed to be faulty electrics. Crews left the scene at 22:06.
- At 00:05, Eastbourne firefighters attended a fire in the open on Pevensey Road, Eastbourne. Crews used one Hose Reel to extinguish a multiple bin fire. The cause is deemed to have been deliberate and the incident was handed over to Sussex Police.
- At 01:44, firefighters from Hove and Brighton attended a residential property on Springfield Road, Brighton following reports of a small fire. When crews arrived, the fire had been extinguished. One resident was suffering from smoke inhalation and was handed over in to the care of SECAMB.
