Firefighters were called to Rotherfield High Street after reports of a large vehicle fuel spillage.
At 6.41am yesterday (17 March) a crew were sent to the incident, due to a large vehicle leaking fuel.
The road was closed as firefighters isolated the leak, resulting in a 60 litres spillage over a 200 metre distance. Firefighters assisted by decanting 100 litres of fuel into containers and making the area safe for the public.
There were no reports of any casualties and police were in attendance.
The Highways Agency, along with the Environment Agency, also attended.
Firefighters left the scene at 8.30am.
