Battle firefighters are teaming up with members of Hastings and Rother Neighbourhood policing team as part of Project EDWARD to help plan future road safety campaigns.
Project EDWARD (Every Day Without A Road Death) is an annual UK-wide road safety campaign backed by government, the emergency services, highways agencies, road safety organisations and British businesses.
The teams are keen to work together to find new ways of keeping the public safe, including encouraging signing the pledge.
Will you make the pledge?
East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service is calling on everyone to create a road environment that’s free from death and serious injury every day. We can all take positive action by reflecting on the risks we face and the risks we pose to others.
Many of these risks can be minimised or removed altogether if we ensure we’re in good shape when we get behind the wheel, we choose safe and compliant speeds and that the vehicle we use is safe and well maintained.
Sign the Project EDWARD pledge and confirm that you’re willing to play your part. The small steps we all take can make a huge difference.
THE PLEDGE
I pledge that I will play my part in reducing risk by ensuring I am fit for the road on all journeys. I will drive within the rules of the Highway Code in a safe and well-maintained vehicle.
