Commendations to staff
During the meeting, Fire Authority members commended the Communications Department for their work on the Communications, Engagement & Consultation Strategy and for their work both internally and externally during 2020/2021. Fire Authority members also thanked all East Sussex Fire & Rescue staff for their efforts during the pandemic and subsequent lockdowns. The Annual Performance Outcomes 2020/2021 report highlights the excellent work carried out by staff during the pandemic. Due to the limitations imposed by the COVID-19 restrictions, staff continued to find other ways (virtual/telephone) of undertaking home safety visits, business safety audits and engagements. The new ways of working will be taken forward and used alongside traditional methods of engagement.
