East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service is inviting people to join its new Conversation Cafes as it marks the start of Inclusion Week (27 September – 3 October 2021).
Inclusion Week is designed to celebrate everyday inclusion in all its forms. This is the 9th year Inclusive Employers has brought organisations together from across the globe to celebrate, share and inspire inclusion practices.
The Service is looking for people to join conversations about its communication campaigns to help it get better at keeping people safe.
It's essentially a chance to tell the Service what matters to you, influence its work, and ask for help. It doesn’t matter what your background or experience is, as long as you live or work in East Sussex or Brighton and Hove.
Whether you represent an organisation or are speaking as an individual, you’ll be very welcome!

We embrace these six principles for good conversation
Open-mindedness: Listen to and respect all points of view.
Acceptance: Suspend judgment as best you can.
Curiosity: Seek to understand rather than persuade.
Discovery: Question assumptions, look for new insights.
Sincerity: Speak what has personal heart and meaning.
Brevity: Go for honesty and depth but don't go on and on.
