East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service is attending a fire at a recycling plant in Lewes.
We were called at 5.05 am on 9 April 2021 to the site at Southerham Lane.
Smoke can be seen from the A27 and multiple 999 calls have been made to our control centre.
Scrap metal is alight.
Six fire engines are at the scene along with a water carrier, an aerial ladder platform, a command unit and our General Purpose Truck.
Crews are working hard and are expected to be there for several hours.
Locals are asked to keep their doors and windows closed to help avoid the smoke and avoid the area.
